Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy explains what SoloJade LLC ("we") collects when you use Bongo, why, who helps us run it, how long we keep things and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what Bongo needs to work and to keep people safe. We don't sell your information, show ads or use outside analytics or tracking.

1What we collect

When you sign up

  • Email address: to sign in, confirm your account and reset your password. It's never shown to other people.
  • Date of birth: to confirm you're 18 or older. If you're younger, we don't create the account or keep what you typed.
  • Password: stored only in a scrambled form (a hash) that can't be turned back into your password.
  • Two-step sign-in, if you turn it on: the key your authenticator app uses, and your recovery codes only in a scrambled form. We also keep a list of the devices you're signed in on (the kind of browser or phone, and when it was last used) so you can see and sign out any of them.
  • Username and display name, and the invite link you joined with, if any.

When you use Bongo

  • Your profile: bio, profile photo and photo posts. We re-save photos, which removes hidden details such as the location where a photo was taken.
  • Your country, if you choose one. The app may suggest it from the country your connection comes from (never anything more precise), but it's only saved if you pick it. You can hide it from your profile; hidden, it isn't used to find you either.
  • Live video and sound: sent through our video provider to your viewers in real time. Streams aren't recorded. About every 30 seconds, your app sends us a still frame of your stream. We use it to check for rule-breaking content and as the preview on the Discover page. Frames that pass the check are deleted when the stream ends. Frames that are flagged are kept as evidence for moderators.
  • Chat messages you send in streams, including messages blocked by our filter.
  • Direct messages you send and receive, including ones our filter stopped, and your setting for who can message you.
  • Activity: who you follow, block and subscribe to, gifts you send and receive, chat moderators you choose, and reports you make or that are made about you. For statistics, we also note which days you use Bongo and which streams you watch and for how long.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, the address your phone's push service gives us to reach that device.
  • Technical information: your IP address and device type, used to keep Bongo secure (for example, to limit repeated sign-in attempts) and kept in short-lived records and server logs. Our logs note which account made each request, so we can find and fix problems.
  • Messages you send us through Contact us (and, if you're signed out, the email address you give us so we can answer). They're deleted a year after we've dealt with them.
  • Error reports: if the app runs into a problem on your device (for example, the camera or video connection fails), it sends us what went wrong, on which screen, and your browser type. Never your messages, photos or video.

Cookies and storage on your device

  • A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in.
  • If you watch a preview without an account, a preview cookie counts your free previews for the day.
  • Your device also remembers settings such as your language.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share your personal information for advertising. The app keeps a random code on your device to count visits and sessions, never tied to your name.

2How we use it

  • To run Bongo: accounts, live streams, chat, gifts, follows and notifications.
  • To keep people safe: age checks, automatic checks of images and chat, reviewing reports, and acting on accounts that break the rules. Some of these checks are automated, and a person reviews anything serious.
  • To send you emails you need, such as account confirmation and password resets. We don't send marketing email.
  • To keep Bongo secure and working, and to fix problems.
  • To understand how Bongo is used and improve it (product analytics): we record what happens in the app (for example, going live, watching, sending a gift, which screens are opened) under a code instead of your name or email, together with your device type, app version, language, country, and general details like your age range. We never record the text of your messages or chats. You can turn this off under Me → Privacy.
  • Aggregated insights: we may share or sell reports about trends in Bongo (for example, "streams in Colombia get the most gifts on Friday nights"). They are counts over large groups of people and never include anything that identifies you.
  • To meet legal duties, such as reporting child sexual exploitation to NCMEC and answering valid legal requests.

3Who can see what

  • Everyone on Bongo: your username, display name, bio, country (unless you hide it), profile photo, free posts, followers, who you follow, your live streams and your chat messages in streams.
  • Your subscribers only: your subscriber-only posts.
  • Moderators: reports, flagged frames and chat history needed to review a report. Moderators only read a direct-message conversation after someone reports it (or our filter flags it), and every time they open one is recorded.
  • Nobody else: your email address, date of birth and password.

4Companies that help us run Bongo

These providers handle information only to provide their service to us:

  • LiveKit carries live video and sound between streamers and viewers.
  • Cloudflare connects your device to our server, protects Bongo from attacks and runs the bot check on sign-up. It sees your IP address and device information.
  • Proton sends our emails and stores our encrypted backups.
  • Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft deliver notifications to your device, if you turn them on.

Our own server, which stores the database and photos, is in the United States. We also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of SoloJade LLC. If that happens, this policy continues to apply.

5How long we keep things

  • Your account and content: until you delete them, or we remove them. Chat messages are deleted after 90 days, unless a report about that stream is still open. Direct messages are deleted after 90 days, unless a report about that conversation is still open.
  • When you delete your account: we immediately delete your profile, photos, posts, follows, blocks, subscriptions, chat messages, direct messages, notification settings, sign-ins and your product analytics history.
  • What stays after deletion: records of gifts other people received from you (without your name), and moderation records, such as reports, flagged frames and the record of moderators' actions. Flagged frames and closed reports are deleted after one year; anything tied to an open report or to a report about a minor is kept as long as safety and the law require.
  • Other records: which days you used Bongo and what you watched are deleted after 90 days (only overall totals are kept). Sign-in attempt records are deleted within about a day, and preview records within two days. Server logs and error reports are deleted after 30 days, and app statistics (counts only, no personal details) after 15 days. Backups are replaced over about 30 days. Product analytics records are deleted after about 25 months.

6Your choices and rights

  • See and correct: edit your profile any time under Me → Edit profile.
  • Delete: delete your account under Me → Delete account.
  • Notifications: turn them off under Me → Notifications or in your phone's settings.
  • Analytics: turn product analytics off under Me → Privacy. We also respect your browser's Global Privacy Control signal.
  • Ask us: for a copy of your information, or any other privacy question, contact privacy@bongolive.app.

Depending on where you live, for example California, you may have more rights, such as knowing what we collect, deleting it, correcting it and not being treated differently for using these rights. We don't sell or "share" personal information for targeted advertising.

7Security

We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), scrambled passwords, limits on sign-in attempts and restricted access to our server. No service is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

8Adults only

Bongo isn't for anyone under 18. If we learn someone under 18 has an account, we delete it. If you believe a minor is using Bongo, please report them in the app.

9Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app first. Questions: privacy@bongolive.app.
