Safety built in
Real people moderate Bongo, every day. The rules are in the Community Guidelines, and help is in the Bongo help center.
- 18+ only. Everyone confirms their age at sign-up; nothing is kept about anyone under age.
- Streams are checked. Live streams are scanned for nudity every 30 seconds, and flagged ones go to a moderator.
- A chat filter that’s hard to fool, plus streamers’ own chat moderators, slow mode and mutes.
- Report or block anyone, privately. Every report is reviewed by a person.
- Help when it matters. Self-harm reports reach moderators first, with crisis lines ready to share.
Questions
Is Bongo free?
Yes: watching, chatting, sending hearts and going live are free. Coins are only for sending gifts. For now the coin shop is in test mode: checkout uses a pretend card and no real money is charged.
How do I get an invite?
Bongo is invite-only during the beta. Ask a friend who’s on Bongo to send you their invite link, then open it to create your account.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Bongo works in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. Apps for iPhone and Android are in the works.
Which languages does it speak?
English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic. It follows your phone’s language, and you can change it under Me → Language.
Can teenagers use Bongo?
No. Bongo is for adults 18 and over only.
